Shark Shirts, from the water

Shark shirts drawn from my own underwater photos of sharks, the animals I most want people to see the way I see them.

In the water, sharks are nothing like the headlines. The ones I have photographed have been calm, curious and beautifully built, and that is what I want these shirts to show. Every design in this collection starts as a real photo from a dive, then gets drawn in fine engraved lines that keep the true shape of each species. No cartoon teeth, no movie poster jaws, just the animal as it actually looks.

Blue shark

The first design here is the Blue Shark T-Shirt. Blue sharks are long, slender open ocean sharks, and I photographed this one in Cabo. The drawing follows the long pectoral fins and the sweep of the body, with four sharks stacked down the back from largest to smallest like a page from a field guide: BLUE SHARK, Prionace glauca, Life Through Water. The front keeps it simple with one small blue shark and Life Through Water on the left chest.

More species from my shark photos are being added to this collection, each drawn the same way and labeled with its common and scientific name, so the shirts work as a set as much as on their own.

The shirt

The shark designs are printed on a heavyweight 100% cotton tee, 7.7 oz (260 gsm), with a relaxed, loose fit and a crew neck, in Black, Dark Gray and White, sizes S to 2XL. Black and Dark Gray get white lettering, White gets black lettering, and the shark art is the same on every color. Each one is printed to order, so nothing sits in a warehouse, and ships free worldwide, usually leaving in 2 to 4 business days and arriving in 9 to 14 days.

Why sharks

Sharks have had bad press for a long time, and most people only ever see them in a headline. I would rather people see a blue shark the way I have, gliding past in open water with nothing on its mind but the next meal it can find. Wearing one is a small way to start that conversation.
