Fine Art Paper

The photograph, printed. Hahnemühle German Etching, 310gsm. The museum standard, and the one hanging in my own house. A heavyweight cotton rag with a soft, tactile surface and deep blacks that hold the shadow detail exactly as the water looked.

Box Framed Print

The same Hahnemühle paper, framed and ready to hang the moment it lands. Black box frame, no mount, so the image runs edge to edge behind the glaze. Nothing between you and the picture but a sheet of Perspex.

• 20mm frame face, which adds about 0.8in of wood on each side

Canvas

Gallery-wrapped on a solid wood stretcher, with the image continuing around the edge. No frame, no glass, no reflections. The weave adds a little texture and takes the shine off a bright room.

Material four

Acrylic Panel

The giclée is hand-mounted behind 10mm high-gloss acrylic with diamond-polished edges. It is the closest thing to looking through water. Light travels into the panel and comes back out of it, which is why the blues glow the way they do.

Which size?

Measure the wall, then take about two thirds of the free space. Most people buy one size too small and regret it, so if you are between two, go up. The three smaller sizes are 4:5, the ratio off-the-shelf frames are cut for. The two large sizes are 2:3, the shape my camera actually sees. I crop each image myself for both, so the composition is right at every size rather than machine-trimmed.

Shipping is included in every price, worldwide. There is nothing added at checkout.

Certificate of authenticity

Every print ships with a certificate carrying the title of the work, the material, the size and a facsimile of my signature. It is printed, not hand signed. I would rather tell you that plainly than let you assume otherwise.

Printing, shipping and care

• Production takes two to four business days, because your piece does not exist until you order it
• Prints are made at the facility closest to you, so an order to Berlin is made in Europe and an order to Sydney is made in Australia. Faster, and a smaller carbon footprint
• Canada is the one exception. There is no local lab, so Canadian orders are made in the UK and may attract import duty on arrival
• Paper and framed: keep out of direct sunlight. Nothing survives a south-facing window forever
• Canvas: dust with a dry cloth, never a wet one
• Acrylic: wipe with a damp cloth. It does not care

Color, screens and honesty

Your monitor emits light. A print reflects it. They will never be identical, and the same image on matte paper reads softer and warmer than it does behind gloss acrylic. That is not a flaw, it is why I offer four materials. If what arrives is not what you expected, tell me and I will make it right.
