A night of film, art, and underwater storytelling! Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Awakening screening at Woods Boss Brewing in Denver.

Awakening – A Night Beneath The Surface was a giant success. Well over 100 people turned out and we were able to bring together Denver’s film, art and underwater communities for a really fun night. Josh Berendes and I are really appreciative of all your support and kind words, and for sharing images of the event on your social media.
Getting to share this film, connect with so many of you in person, and see the energy in the room was something I won’t forget. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who came out, bought prints, entered the raffle, or just showed up to support.
For me, it was really refreshing and encouraging to meet so many people who love the ocean and being underwater, and to speak with lots of other people who are fascinated by the underwater world, but haven’t yet had the opportunity to explore beneath its waters. It was also great being around people who value art and film even if the underwater element isn’t something they know much about.
Thank you to Woods Boss Brewing Company for hosting the event. Everyone seemed very satisfied with the delicious beers, and what a great space for bringing people together. I don’t think this will be the last event we have here!
The guests were also very stoked with the incredible food cooked by our friend Connor Staahj. People were lining up for seconds of the amazing cornbread, rice balls, and other dishes prepared by Connor.
We had a great Q&A after the screening of the film, which gave me a chance to share some of my passion for creating underwater art with the audience. We will put the film online on Josh’s YouTube Channel shortly and will post on social media when it’s live.
Everything went off without a hitch and it makes me want to bring these communities together for more events like this.
