Weightlessness does something no dry set can: fabric floats, light bends, and the body finds a stillness that only exists underwater. Sessions welcome first-timers and seasoned models alike. From wildlife to underwater — Denver roots
Denver has been my home and creative playground for many years. My journey began with wildlife photography, chasing marine life through oceans, rivers, and springs around the world. Over time I found myself drawn not just to the animals beneath the surface but to the shapes, expressions, and stories people bring to underwater spaces. That shift led me to underwater model photography — a genre that fuses human artistry with the wonders of the aquatic realm.
Bridal & wreck-the-dress
Wreck the dress is the underwater version of trash the dress. After the wedding, the gown comes back into the water and moves the way it never could on land — lace floats, tulle catches the light, and a train drifts behind you in slow motion.

Some brides shoot in their actual wedding dress; others rent or buy a second gown for the water. We talk through fabric, fit, and what moves best during the pre-shoot consultation. These sessions also suit engagement portraits, anniversaries, and milestones — heated pools mean we can shoot any time of year.
Lingerie & intimates
Lace, mesh, silk, satin and chiffon all behave differently in water than they do in a studio. Slips and robes drape and lift; structured bodysuits and bustiers turn sculptural, with none of the compression marks a dry set produces.

Do I need to know how to freedive?
One of the defining characteristics of underwater photography is weightlessness. That freedom of movement is impossible on land and makes each session feel like a dance of fluid motion. On location — a pool in Denver, a spring in Florida, a reef in the tropics — I draw on techniques from freedive culture. I guide every subject through simple breath-holding and relaxation techniques so they feel at ease, prolonging their poise and intensifying the imagery.
Where are the underwater photoshoots held in Denver?
Not every project calls for the ocean. I maintain access to multiple pools in the Denver area, where controlled light, temperature, and duration make an ideal setting for first-timers and for more complex product shoots. Many clients choose a pool session for their first foray into underwater portraiture, discovering how magical it feels to be suspended in a shimmering blue backdrop.
How long do I need to hold my breath?
A common concern for newcomers is holding your breath while posing in an unfamiliar, submerged environment. I have spent years refining my approach, helping models handle buoyancy, water pressure, and breath control. Proper breathing is the difference between a rushed frame and a serene, elongated pose that reads beautifully on camera — and I make sure you feel confident throughout.
